The Professor is a movie released only a couple of weeks ago, in May 2019 that holds some valuable wisdom. Although it has a huge star like Johnny Depp playing, the movie is still quite small. It’s not the best movie ever, the action is quite slow and not as surprising. However, the main character of the movie is key, allowing us to acquire some lessons from the professor 2019.

Richard, the character played by Depp just found out that he suffers from cancer. The movie is based around his upcoming confrontation with death and his desire to change things.

Time is King

Time is one of those resources that we only start to value once it becomes scarce. Most people go through life just as if they are going to be here forever, postponing what matters only to gain more hollow things.

Trading time for money, the process most people are taking part it can be very dangerous. In such a lifestyle you’re giving away your best years only to be able to afford another shiny object. Although late in his life, Richard understood this concept.

When in front of his upcoming end, Richard decided to focus on what matters the most for him. He decided to focus on making an impact, on valuing his family and lastly on his book.

So, instead of living a meaningless life pursuing unfulfilling ideals as until then, Richard decided to flip the script and do whatever he wants without any constraints. Although you’re not facing the same situation as him, you can still use your time more cautiously.

Not Everything Is Important

Although we put huge importance on a variety of factors, not everything matters as much as we think. When stripped naked, the things we value the most are the ones dictated by our environment.

A large part of the population overemphasizes the importance of social conduct. The importance of self-censorship in order to blend in with the crowds. People following this pattern only end up denying their authenticity.
